How to Clean Roller Shades Without Damaging the Fabric

Roller shades are low maintenance, but the wrong cleaning method can crease fabric, leave marks, or affect operation.

For routine care, start with light dusting or a soft brush vacuum attachment. The goal is to remove dust without pressing hard into the fabric.

For small marks, use a clean damp cloth and test gently in an inconspicuous spot first. Avoid harsh cleaners, heavy scrubbing, and soaking the shade.

Let the shade dry fully before rolling it up. Rolling damp fabric can trap moisture and create marks, especially in humid rooms.

If a shade is stained, creased, or not moving correctly, it is better to ask for product-specific guidance before attempting a deep clean.
